On December 24, Chairman Yu Beihua and President Fu Fan of Shanghai International Group (SIG) attended the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and China Taiping Insurance Group Ltd. (China Taiping). Fu signed a letter of cooperation intent with Taiping Reinsurance Co., Ltd. (Taiping Reinsurance) on behalf of SIG. Ying Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Luo Xi, Chairman of China Taiping Insurance Group witnessed the agreement signing.
The intention of cooperation between SIG and Taiping Reinsurance is an integral part of the strategic cooperation between the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and China Taiping. Under the letter of cooperation intent, SIG will extend and intensify cooperation with Taiping Reinsurance in the operations of reinsurance companies, the innovation of Shanghai's reinsurance market, financial talent exchanges and other fields. Through the cooperation, the two sides will support and advance the building of Shanghai into a reinsurance center, and constantly enhance the international competitiveness and influence of Shanghai as an international financial center.
