On June 26th, outcome of the 2016 Shanghai Finance Innovation Award was publicly announced, with 66 innovative projects in Shanghai`s financial industry awarded, to commend the outperformed organizations and institutions for their contributions made to promote Shanghai`s financial innovation, upgrade competitiveness of Shanghai`s financial institutions, encourage development of Shanghai`s financial industry.
In the list of the awarded, China Commercial Paper Transaction System and Establishment of Shanghai Insurance Exchange and its Insurance Assets Registering Platform were presented with Top-grade Award, for commending outstanding contributions made by Shanghai Commercial Paper Exchange Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Insurance Exchange Co., Ltd. to develop China`s financial factor market.
With the support of competent authorities including Shanghai Financial Service Office, SIG, as Shanghai`s local state-owned capital operation platform, has taken the lead in preparing for the establishment of Shanghai Insurance Exchange, conducting research and making plans for its service platform, providing manpower and financial resources, coordinating issues concerning capital contribution and related approvals. Besides, SIG also actively participated in the founding of Shanghai Commercial Paper Exchange. Hence, SIG have effectively supported the operation of the two above-mentioned institutions by means of capital contribution for equity holding. The honor won by Shanghai Insurance Exchange and Shanghai Commercial Paper Exchange on one hand proves the unprecedented progress of Shanghai`s financial factor market development, while also manifests SIG`s unique advantages and the leading role it takes in this field. In the future, SIG, under the overall deployment of Shanghai Municipal Government and CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, will continuously involve in the building of functional institutions and transaction platforms of the kind, develop and complement Shanghai`s financial factor market and keep on improving the influence of Shanghai as an international financial center to better serve its socio-economic development.
